Max Cavalera wants to write a sequel to his biography
Max Cavalera still collects stories
In an interview with the podcast ' Scars And Guitars ', former Sepultura guitarist Max Cavalera talked about the possibility of a sequel to his 2014 autobiography 'My Bloody Roots: From Sepultura To Soulfly And Beyond'. "I still have to collect a few stories ," Cavalera explains. "But yes, it would be great to do a second part at some point. With later impressions. There are a lot of cool tour stories that I've always thought about telling in a separate book. That would be really exciting."The guitarist was inspired by an article published in Decibel Magazine. It was about a joint tour between Sepultura and the industrial masters Ministry . "I found it fascinating to read Al Jourgensen's perspective and that of Helmet - things I didn't know before ," says Max Cavalera. "The fact that Al is such a huge Sepultura fan and fought to get us on tour was completely new to me. Stories like that would be perfect for a book of their own."
Max Cavalera wants to write a sequel to his biography Biography covers all important stages of life
The revised edition of 'My Bloody Roots' was released in 2022 and includes additional contributions from fellow musicians. In it, Cavalera reflects on formative experiences, from his childhood in Brazil to the rise of Sepultura to the ruptures and losses that have accompanied him.
He also speaks in detail for the first time about the split from Sepultura and the estrangement from his brother Igor, which surprised many fans. The difficult phase afterward, when he founded Soulfly, is also an important chapter in both his life and the book. But of course it is also about the long road to reuniting with Igor and founding Cavalera Conspiracy. But the thrasher makes one thing clear: that many chapters in his life are still unwritten. "We are collecting the stories. And that is exactly what we are doing right now ," he concludes.
